Barry Bonds led National League position players in pWOPA (pWins over positional average) 10 times in his career; he led National League position players in pWORL (pwins over replacement level) 10 times.

In the discussion of Barry Bonds at Baseball Think Factory's Hall of Merit, a commenter named OCF compared Barry Bonds's WAR with the best non-Bonds player in the NL over most of Bonds's career (comment #18 of the link) and found that, basically, Bonds was equal to the (changing cast of) best non-Bonds players in the NL. That seemed like a fun comparison, so I thought I'd do the same thing.

The table below compares pWOPA and pWORL for three sets of position players (I decided to exclude pitchers): Barry Bonds, the best player in the AL, and the best non-Bonds player in the NL.

Over Barry Bonds's prime - and it was a 15-year prime! - he beat the best in the AL and the best in the NL in both pWOPA and pWORL. Yeah, Barry Bonds was pretty good.
