Garret Anderson was a mainstay in the California/Anaheim/Los Angeles Angels' outfield for 14 seasons, from 1995 through 2008. For most of that time period, Anderson was good, not great, hovering around league average more often than not. But he was incredibly durable, playing 150 or more games for 8 consecutive seasons, and league-average performance and durability are valuable to a major-league team.

The next table shows the top 10 players in Angels' franchise history in pWins over replacement level.

Most of the rest of the players on this list were better than Garret Anderson at their best. But there's a lot of value in showing up and locking in league-average performance at one of the three outfield positions for 150+ games per season for a decade-plus.
