This is Manny Ramirez's first year appearing on a Hall-of-Fame ballot.

I think that Manny Ramirez is best remembered by most people as a Boston Red Sock. And Manny did play more games for the Red Sox than for any other team. But he actually played as many seasons, 8, for his first team, the Cleveland Indians, as he played in Boston. And Ramirez's rate stats for the two teams were remarkably similar.

For his career, Ramirez batted .312/.411/.585 with one home run every 17.6 plate appearances.

For the Boston Red Sox, Ramirez batted .312/.411/.588 with one home run every 17.1 plate appearances.

For the Cleveland Indians, Ramirez batted .313/.407/.592 with one home run every 17.4 plate appearances.
The next table shows how Manny Ramirez performed over his career for the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox, as measured by Player won-lost records.

Manny played 12% more games in Boston (1,083 to 967) and had 14% more plate appearances (4,682 to 4,095). Because of this, his totals are similarly better for Boston. But Manny Ramirez was very much the same player in both Cleveland and Boston - and an excellent player that was.
