This is Pat Burrell's first year appearing on a Hall-of-Fame ballot.

Pat Burrell was a key contributor to the 2008 Philadelphia Phillies' playoff run which ended in the second World Championship in franchise history. For the entire postseason run, Burrell batted .227/.346/.455, which doesn't sound all that impressive. But he had 2 home runs and 4 RBI in a 6-2 win in Game 4 of the NLDS and had a solo home run in a 3-2 win in Game 1 of the NLCS.

Even in the World Series, Burrell batted only 1-for-14, but in Game 5, Burrell went 1-for-2 with 2 walks. His first walk came with two outs and two on base in the bottom of the first inning, keeping the inning alive for Shane Victorino to follow with a 2-run single to stake the Phillies to an early 2-0 lead. Burrell then got his only hit of the World Series leading off the bottom of the seventh inning, with the score tied 3-3. Burrell was pinch-run for by Eric Bruntlett who went on to score the winning run in the Phillies' 4-3 win which won them Game 5 and the World Series.

Here is how Pat Burrell's 2008 postseason looks as measured by Player won-lost records.
