This is Roger Clemens's 5th year on the BBWAA Hall-of-Fame ballot. Last year, he appeared on 45.2% of ballots.

I began writing articles about Hall of Fame candidates with the 2013 Hall-of-Fame ballot (which was released in late 2012), Roger Clemens's first year on the ballot. Hence, this is the fifth article which I have written about Roger Clemens.
This year, I am going to look at the two halves of Roger Clemens's career. Roger Clemens played for 24 seasons. If you divide his career exactly in half you get two remarkably similar 12-year careers.

The two halves of Roger Clemens's career were so similar that the same player's full career ends up most similar to both halves of Clemens's career: Roy Halladay.

Roy Halladay won two Cy Young awards, finished second in Cy Young voting two other times, and had 7 top-5 Cy Young and 2 top-10 MVP finishes in his 16-year career, finishing his career with 203 traditional pitcher wins and a career ERA 31% better than league average (according to Baseball-Reference). In my opinion, Roy Halladay will be a deserving Hall-of-Famer when he becomes eligible in two years.

Roger Clemens had Roy Halladay's career. And then, he had Roy Halladay's career again.
