As I suspect most baseball fans know, the highlight of Joe Carter's career was the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 6 of the 1993 World Series when Carter came up to bat with two runners on base, one out, and Carter's Toronto Blue Jays trailing the Philadelphia Phillies 6-5. Carter hit a line drive over the left field wall and the Toronto Blue Jays won the game 8-6 and the World Series, 4 games to 2.

Carter played in two World Series, both with the Blue Jays. In 12 World Series games, Carter drove in 11 runs and scored 8 runs. In addition to their walk-off Game 6 win in 1993, the Blue Jays won five World Series games by a single run over these two seasons (including all four of their wins in 1992). Joe Carter drove in or scored a run in three of these five games. Putting Carter's World Series performance in context, as pWins do, his performance across these two World Series was historic.

The next table shows the top 25 World Series performers, since MLB integration (1947), ranked by pWin winning percentage (min. 1.75 career World Series pWins).
