Player Won-Lost Records and Carlos Pena
Carlos Pena was a late bloomer. After a couple of so-so seasons for a couple of pretty bad Detroit Tigers teams, Pena then missed the equivalent of about 1-1/2 seasons to injuries. Then, finally healthy and on a new team, Pena broke out in 2007 at the age of 29 with career highs in hits (138), walks (103), doubles (29), home runs (46), total bases (307), runs scored (99), RBI (121), and all three batting rate statistics: batting average (.282), on-base percentage (.411), and slugging percentage (.627). All of those figures remained career highs for Pena, but he followed up his breakout 2007 season with four more full-time seasons of above average production.

The next table shows the players most similar to Carlos Pena at ages 29 - 33, the 2007 - 2011 seasons for Pena.
