This is Aramis Ramirez's first year on the Hall-of-Fame ballot.

Vote Prediction
Aramis Ramirez probably has the fourth-strongest Hall-of-Fame case among players appearing for the first time on the Hall of Fame ballot. Unfortunately for him, I think there are probably only three newcomers with a realistic chance of making a second ballot and I'm not sure there are any newcomers that I would bet on actually being elected to the Hall of Fame. I could see Ramirez getting a few votes - I'll predict he gets five votes - but mostly it is simply an honor for Aramis Ramirez to appear on a Hall-of-Fame ballot.

Player Won-Lost Records and Aramis Ramirez
In his prime, Aramis Ramirez was a very good player: a middle-of-the-order hitter for three playoff teams who was the best Chicago Cubs third baseman since Hall-of-Famer Ron Santo.

So, exactly how good was he? The next table tries to rank Aramis Ramirez among third basemen in "recent" baseball history (i.e., since the start of divisional play).

Aramis Ramirez did not have a Hall-of-Fame career. But he did have a damn fine career.
