LaTroy Hawkins was the oldest player in the major leagues in his final season, 2015, during which he was 42 years old.

According to Wikipedia, LaTroy Hawkins is the godfather of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes father, Patrick, was a teammate of Hawkins on the 1995-96 Minnesota Twins.

This is LaTroy Hawkins's first year on the Hall-of-Fame ballot.

Vote Prediction

It is simply an honor for LaTroy Hawkins to appear on a Hall-of-Fame ballot. I doubt there are any voters who really truly believe that LaTroy Hawkins is a Hall-of-Famer. But Hawkins pitched 21 years, pitched quite well in many of those years, and, from what I can tell from the outside, was extremely well respected within the game. That's not worth an actual Hall-of-Fame election but I could see if being worth a vote or two or three. I predict that LaTroy Hawkins gets three votes for the Hall of Fame.
