Vote PredictionIn his first three years on the Hall-of-Fame ballot, Ramirez's vote totals ranged from 22.0% to 23.8%. Last year, he did a bit better, 28.2%. Even with last year's modest gain, Ramirez seems to be in similar shape to the other candidates on the ballot with a PED taint: they're not really converting no's to yes's and seem destined to languish below 75% until they "age off" the ballot. Maybe Ramirez will gain a little traction, but I have trouble seeing him gaining more than a few percentage points. I'll predict he gains 3% and gets up to 31.2% of the vote this year.
Player Won-Lost Records and Manny RamirezManny Ramirez was one of the greatest hitters in major-league history. As noted above, his career OPS is in the top 10 in major-league history. Of course, he played in a high-offense era, so that likely overstates his true value. But not by all that much.
