Nick Swisher's father, Steve Swisher, had a nine-year major-league career as a catcher for the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Diego Padres.

Nick Swisher made one All-Star team in his career, in 2010. That season, Swisher batted .288/.359/.511 with 29 home runs, 82 RBI, and 91 runs scored.

Swisher his 20 or more home runs nine times - consecutively, from 2005 through 2013. These were the only nine seasons of his career in which he played in 100 or more games as well as the only nine seasons of his career in which he had 500 or more plate appearances. Swisher's father hit exactly 20 home runs over his entire nine-year major-league career (1,577 plate appearances).

Nick Swisher started 100 or more games at five different positions in his career: designated hitter (113 starts), first base (385 starts), and all three outfield positions. He started 128 career games in left field, 125 games in center field, and 711 games in right field.
