This is Todd Helton's third year on the Hall-of-Fame ballot. I have written articles about the Hall-of-Fame candidates every year in which Todd Helton has been on the BBWAA ballot. Here is what I wrote about him last year.

Vote Prediction
Todd Helton debuted in 2019 with 16.5% of the vote (70 of 425 ballots). His support grew to 29.2% last year (116 of 397). I think it is too early to say whether Helton will be elected to the Hall of Fame or not but he certainly seems to have positive momentum and, given the lack of any obvious first-year Hall-of-Famers, could see a big increase this year. If he matches last year's increase of 12.7% that would put him at 39.9%. Maybe a little more than that: let's guess 41.0% - at which point I would say that he would probably be on his way to eventually being elected by the BBWAA.

Player Won-Lost Records and Todd Helton
Last year, Larry Walker became the first player who ever played for the Colorado Rockies to be elected to the Hall of Fame. Walker had arguably his best seasons - and won his only MVP award - as a Rockie, but he only played parts of 10 seasons with the Rockies, starting and ending his career elsewhere. In contrast, Todd Helton spent his entire career with the Rockies.

When evaluating who the best player was in a franchise's history, I tend to think it makes sense to only look at what a player did while playing for that franchise. By that measure, per Baseball Player won-lost records, Todd Helton has an excellent argument for being the best player in Colorado Rockies history.
